While there is no camping right in Capitola, a number of popular campgrounds are nearby, including beach campsites. The nearest is one of the favorites in the area - New Brighton State Beach. It is close enough to walk to Capitola. Other nearby camping spots along the coast include Seacliff State Beach, Sunset State Beach, and Manresa State Beach.


New Brighton State Beach Campground

Less than a mile south of Capitola Beach, New Brighton State Beach offers bluff-top camping for RVs, trailers, and tents. Premium sites overlook the ocean.

Seacliff State Beach Campground

Seacliff State Beach is 3½ miles south of Capitola Beach. Camping at Seacliff State Beach is limited to RVs or trailers which must have fully operating, permanently installed, self-contained plumbing. However, there are a number of hook-up sites with water, electricity and sewer. The camping area is composed of a long row of paved RV parking slots facing the beach. Most are wide enough to allow a small outdoor area adjacent to the RV.

Manresa State Beach
Campgrounds

Manresa State Beach is 9 miles south of Capitola Beach. Campgrounds at Manresa are on a bluff above the beach. All the campsites are walk-in, tents only. Campers may park at the lower lot for 20 minutes while they unload or load and then must move their vehicle to the upper lot. The sites are situated around central areas of lawn.
