Manchester Beach Camping

The campground at Manchester State Park is set about one-half mile back from the beach, giving it some protection from the wind that often is blowing hard. Some of the sites nearest to Kinney Road are rather exposed, but others back among the cypress trees and have more shade. Manchester is known as a quiet campground.

The environmental campsites that were ounce out by Lake Davis have been permanently closed.

Ocean Safety

California State Parks and Recreation cautions that "large surf, cold water temperatures, backwash, sudden drop-offs, pounding shorebreak, and dangerous rip currents can turn what seem like safe activities such as playing near the surf line, wading, or climbing on rock outcroppings, deadly."
