Advice from Previous Campers

  1. Arrive about 11:00 AM to get a campsite. Other campers will be leaving about then.
  2. No showers? Not a problem. Rinse sand off at the beach in the Big Sur River.
  3. Campsite 5 is a favorite with some campers.
  4. Firewood is $9 a bundle at the park, also at Pfeiffer State Park or nearby store. Gather wood is not allowed.
  5. Bring a shade tent. Most campsites have no shade.
  6. Keep food in lockers to avoid raids by raccoons and ground squirrels.
  7. Be sure to bring the right change ($25) for camping fees.
